Client Requirements
IMPORTANT: Customers will not necessarily be required to update SecureDoc versions when a Microsoft Windows update is released, as older SecureDoc versions may support the new release. WinMagic tests previous SecureDoc versions released in the past 18-24 months for support. Older versions my also support the most current Windows update. Please review the SecureDoc Client for Windows support table below for greater detail.
NOTE: Any SecureDoc version will support the Feature update that it was tested with, and previous feature updates. For example. SecureDoc 8.3 supports Windows 10 version 1809 and earlier.

Windows Support Policy
WinMagic is committed to supporting the Microsoft release cadence for Windows and is working closely with Microsoft to ensure that SecureDoc software solutions are fully compatible with Windows releases.
To ensure release quality, we actively monitor and test Windows Insider Program (See Here) pre-release builds. WinMagic targets compatibility within 30 days of General Availability (also known as Release to Manufacturing or RTM) releases from Microsoft.
NOTE: Late-breaking changes implemented by Microsoft to a release, or any unresolved compatibility issues raised by WnMagic with Microsoft around a scheduled release, could lead to schedule changes. We will document any changes in this article and communicate such changes to active customers.

Support Policy
Regarding Red Hat and Ubuntu version updates, our current strategy is to deliver minor kernel updates within one to two weeks upon request, unless we are faced with an unexpected complication, which would be exceedingly rare. Major kernel updates could take us in the order of three to six months to support, but that time may be shortened with advanced notice from the customer of their intention to roll out such update.
NOTE: When preparing to complete a version upgrade, it is important that all customers back-up their data. This is recommended before any testing or updating to ensure preservation of data.
