Client Requirements
IMPORTANT: Customers will not necessarily be required to update SecureDoc versions when a Microsoft Windows update is released, as older SecureDoc versions may support the new release. WinMagic tests previous SecureDoc versions released in the past 18-24 months for support. Older versions my also support the most current Windows update. Please review the SecureDoc Client for Windows support table below for greater detail.
NOTE: Any SecureDoc version will support the Feature update that it was tested with, and previous feature updates. For example. SecureDoc 8.3 supports Windows 10 version 1809 and earlier.

Windows Support Policy
WinMagic is committed to supporting the Microsoft release cadence for Windows and is working closely with Microsoft to ensure that SecureDoc software solutions are fully compatible with Windows releases.
To ensure release quality, we actively monitor and test Windows Insider Program (See Here) pre-release builds. WinMagic targets compatibility within 30 days of General Availability (also known as Release to Manufacturing or RTM) releases from Microsoft.
NOTE: Late-breaking changes implemented by Microsoft to a release, or any unresolved compatibility issues raised by WnMagic with Microsoft around a scheduled release, could lead to schedule changes. We will document any changes in this article and communicate such changes to active customers.

Support Policy
Regarding Red Hat and Ubuntu version updates, our current strategy is to deliver minor kernel updates within one to two weeks upon request, unless we are faced with an unexpected complication, which would be exceedingly rare. Major kernel updates could take us in the order of three to six months to support, but that time may be shortened with advanced notice from the customer of their intention to roll out such update.
NOTE: When preparing to complete a version upgrade, it is important that all customers back-up their data. This is recommended before any testing or updating to ensure preservation of data.

Important
Mac OS X and macOS are supported for enterprise environments via FileVault 2 management support. SecureDoc EnterpriseServer is capable of managing FileVault 2 centrally, enforcing encryption policies and removable media encryption. It’s notalways required to update the DMG version on every macOS update but check here for accurate information.
NOTE:
– Issues have been found in upgrading from macOS 10.13.6 to 10.15.5. These will be resolved in SecureDoc 8.6. In the interim,we have a workaround of performing an update to MacOS Mojave, and then upgrading to Catalina (10.15.5). Mojave can bedownloaded from the following link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/macos-mojave/id1398502828?ls=1&mt=12
– Devices purchased from the Apple store during Nov – Dec 2020 have macOS version 11.0 (20A2411) preinstalled. This is a betamacOS version on Late 2020 MacBook Air, Late 2020 MacBook Pro, and 2020 Mac Mini. macOS version 11.0 (20A2411) and isnot supported. macOS El Capitan (Versions 10.11.x)
macOS Big Sur 11.2 release and the build 20D64 of macOS 11.2.1 are prohibited while using SecureDoc. See KB 1876 for more information.
