The End of the Login

For decades, the cybersecurity industry has poured billions into building a stronger login, but attackers have moved on. They are no longer picking the lock at the front door; they are climbing through the open window of your active session.

In this video, we explore a fundamental architectural shift in how we handle digital identity, moving away from vulnerable session tokens toward a mathematically proven, secure transport layer.

By utilizing endpoint-native identity and hardware-backed keys, protocols like PADIT and LIT embed authentication directly into the TLS transport layer. This approach eliminates the need for vulnerable session cookies and constant user prompts, effectively removing the “human factor” as a point of failure.

We don’t do “good enough” — the stakes are too high. With cyberattacks growing more sophisticated by the day, data security solutions must stay ahead with better and more secure technology. This urgency is why WinMagic believes in layers: where one fails, the other will prevail. (1) The first layer is FIDO2 online authentication, which utilizes the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) via public key cryptography for incredibly secure device verification. (2)  The second layer is continuous verification of the user, device, apps and every transaction, supporting zero-trust architecture. (3) The third layer is passwordless Windows authentication with a comprehensive selection of MFA options for logging into Windows. (4)  Passwordless pre-boot authentication protects your endpoint access, again with a comprehensive selection of MFA options for logging into the device. (5)  WinMagic recommends endpoint encryption for the best security, keeping your physical device safe while the other layers protect your device and online access. (6) At this point, your data is protected by 5 layers, offering the ultimate security that’s strong enough to protect even the most sensitive data.

In this video, we will demonstrate how users can leverage MagicEndpoint’s no user action feature to log into a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). The process begins with the user securely authenticating to the endpoint using strong multi-factor authentication (MFA). Once logged into the device, the user opens the VMware Horizon client application and selects the desired VDI. The VDI application then connects to the MagicEndpoint Identity Provider (IDP) to validate the user’s login attempt. Using FIDO, the IDP ensures that both the user and the device are authorized to access the VDI instance. After completing these security checks, the IDP grants access, and the user is automatically connected to their VDI without needing to enter credentials or use a phone, providing a seamless and secure no user action login experience.

In this video, we demonstrate how MagicEndpoint simplifies secure authentication for multiple users on the same device. The process begins with the first user logging into Windows using their phone for authentication. When multiple phones are registered, the phone nearest to the laptop receives a pop-up for login approval. The user then opens the OpenVPN application and selects the single sign-on (SSO) option, which uses Ping Identity. The request is redirected to the Ping Identity portal, where the user clicks on the MagicEndpoint IDP for authentication. MagicEndpoint identifies the correct TPM key for the user and authenticates them via public key cryptography, requiring no further action from the user. This seamless process is repeated for additional users, ensuring secure and effortless access to applications.
