Secure Removable Media

On the Go Security

Full disk encryption is an excellent way to secure the data that resides on desk-based PCs and laptops. SecureDoc from WinMagic offers an industry-leading data-at-rest security solution and takes it to a new level with Removable Media Encryption and Removable Media Container Encryption. Protect sensitive data on USB or flash drives and other removable media by fully encrypting these media on a sector-by-sector basis.

Removable Media Container Encryption (RMCE)

RMCE is a function of SecureDoc that allows users the ability to create an encrypted container on a removable USB. This differs from traditional removable media encryption inasmuch as the user isn’t required to encrypt the full volume of the media. With RMCE users can effectively create an encrypted partition on the removable media leaving the remainder of the volume unencrypted and free to use for other purposes.

Data leakage via unsecured transfer of files becomes a thing of the past with SecureDoc Removable Media Container Encryption.

Removable Media Encryption (RME)

Removable Media Encryption gives organizations the power to fully encrypt USB or flash drives with the same robust sector-based encryption used by SecureDoc to encrypt hard drives. Because SecureDoc interacts with the read/write processes on the host computer, SecureDoc’s Disk Access Control functionality can define policies for all removable media relating to read/write to any disk, including restrictions based on encryption status. All files copied onto these devices are then automatically encrypted with no requirement for user intervention.
