Taking the plunge into data security

Welcome to WinMagic’s blog!

If you’ve found this page, you’re interested in data security, encryption and discussions of that type, and that what I’m going to focus on. WinMagic is going to talk about what is happening in the security market, analyze issues, breaches, technology advancements and more.

Will I talk about our technology? Yes, of course I will! However, I’m going to do my best to relate it to a broader market context and how it can be applied effectively in the real world to help prevent the loss of data. That said, when we launch a new product or an update, I’m going to talk about it, because we’re proud of the work we do and the products we bring to market.

I’d really like this to be a dialog with readers, not a one-way discussion. I look forward to your feedback in the comments section and I’m completely open to topic suggestions to discuss here.

  • I for one am estatic you guys are back on the blog… There is so much to talk about and you guys have been quiet for too long. We are a customer and our experience has been pretty rocky getting SecureDoc out the door last year. This year, we’ve seen a noticeable turn around in customer service and technical support and things are better… but you guys still have some distance to go! The UI needs a lot of work and needs to go web… PBConnex has bugs in certain scenarios… Better integration between the console and reporting… Did I mention user experience with the UI? We live in the Google/Apple UI era now, usability is a key component when we decide to pick or keep software!

Net-net… keep the dialog going… educate us on how to use these products better… and continually sell us on why we should stay a customer…

  • Thanks for the comment Jonathan. We can certainly see your points above and many are definitely valid. We have some good things in the pipe coming in the Fall. Stay tuned, I think you’ll be happy with a number of changes/enhancements coming to SecureDoc.
